Imate jam pocket pc phone edition
That will definitely require a ROM upgrade at some point. The Camera application is an updated version of the one normally included in the HTC manufactured devices. The camera has a 2. Click the above image to see it full resolution. The quality is not much improved over other i-mate cameras. The lens is not nearly sharp enough. The flash has an effective range of about 2 or 3 feet, and the pictures are still very noisy and blurry. The KJAM lasted for about 7 hours 33 minutes.
Turning down the backlight and shutting off wireless when not in use will give you over 10 hours of usage. If I go to the menu and access the library again… then all is well. Be sure to check out the WM5FixSite. Other Windows Mobile 5. Most other GPS navigation programs are still in the process of updating their software for Windows Mobile 5 support.
So I have to reach in my pocket, turn the K-JAM on, then press the voice command button on my headset? I hope this can be fixed in a ROM update as well. One very cool thing was that you are able to change the Bluetooth Voice Command button to launch any application with a registry edit. I made it launch Microsoft Voice Command 1. I have to press the Bluetooth headset button again to close the audio connection when finished with my commands. It has been said and assumed that Bluetooth 2.
A ROM update is also expected to support But again, a ROM update may be in order. I also wish the K-JAM had a faster processor. Lastly, I wish it was thinner. There are rumors that Cingular and T-Mobile will be offering a version of this early next year. This is my new primary device and I am very impressed. Is the added thickness worth upgrading from an i-mate JAM?
On the plus side, i-mate will likely release ROM upgrades very promptly to fix these issues while other providers will wait to fix the bugs before releasing their versions. You get a lot of sound, quality sound, for the price, and with a battery life impossible to deplete in one day, you can safely take it with you on your next hike, pool party, barbecue, or even to the court if you want to shoot some hoops. The Amazfit GTR 3 comes with new unique features, a beautiful and clean design, and great software features that make it a compelling device.
According to a leak, Android 13 will come with an even better color-theming engine than Android The latest rumors suggest that iPhone 14 will not only come with one punch hole for the camera but two for Face ID and Camera cutouts. The new Contacts program in Windows Mobile 5. Even contact specific ring tones are integrated with the Contacts program. When someone calls you, their contact photo appears as a notification window on the bottom of the screen.
The new Phone application interface is very much improved. No longer are there blank buttons, and all the functions are accessible from the Menu. On the other hand, the directional pad hardware shortcuts for accessing the Speed Dial and Call History are no longer present.
The version included with the JAMin is an updated build which seems to be much faster as well. The Messaging application also uses Contact photos for emails and text messages. Unfortunately, the MMS integration is very lacking.
The large buttons are supposed to make typing text with one big thumb easier. You can record voice tags for calling any contact as well as launching Applications. It works quite well except that launching the Voice Speed Dial program does not pause Windows Media Player so that it can hear you.
You can also edit the registry to get a different voice recognition program to launch via the Bluetooth headset if you choose. Also notice this application is not designed for Windows Mobile 5.
This saves you from having to enter all those Exchange Server settings. This will basically do a hard reset and restore your JAMin to the default.
Luckily Skype is un-install-able via the Remove Programs control panel. We tested the 1, mAh battery on maximum backlight during normal usage with Bluetooth on. The JAMin lasted for about 8 hours 10 minutes. Turning down the backlight and shutting off wireless when not in use will give you over 10 hours of usage. If I go to the menu and access the library again… then all is well. A lot of the third party software included on the i-mate JAMin was not entirely updated to support Windows Mobile 5.
Be sure to check out the Windows Mobile 5. I also wish the JAMin had more program memory and a faster processor. My hand tends to muffle the sound, and this in no way helps the sound gets to my ears which are located on my head grin. Honestly, despite some shortcomings such as the lack of keyboard, I firmly believe the Prophet is superior. Old headsets that would create static when the phone was in a pocket on the opposite side of my body or in another room, work flawlessly with the JAMin.
Having the D-pad, action button, two soft-keys, start menu, and Ok buttons all in one place are a boon to one-handed usability. All future devices should implement a similar layout! The JAM does not have a button keypad like a standard cell phone which means all dialing must be done from the touch screen.
In some situations I found having to dial on the screen, particularly on the small sized screen of the JAM, annoying. Dialing by contacts is another method for dialing.
I found this to be a lot better method for calling at least the known contacts. This allowed me to use WiFi instead of the cellular data networks. It would have been nice if they WiFi were included like the Bluetooth, but I suppose there need to be something to add in the next edition of the JAM. This makes it easier to add expansions other than just memory. Bluetooth also helps with expandability.
I was able to use the JAM with a Sony Ericsson Bluetooth headset instead of having to use the included wired connector. Camera While the camera is a 1. This makes picture clarity not great, but ok. It is good enough if are viewing the pictures on the device, but the pictures are not really of printable quality or viewing on a larger screen. While it is a Pocket PC device and not strictly a phone, the camera quality is about the same as any other camera phone. Below you can see examples of two pictures I took.
The first was taken indoors and the other outdoors. One thing that is really cool about the camera on the JAM is the software that comes with it. The camera application runs full screen. No task bar at the top, completely full screen, making the whole screen one big view finder. This makes complete sense because Pocket PC devices have such large screens, the whole thing would really be utilized instead of just a small portion. Screen, Battery, and More Screen readability is very important, and with the smaller screen size on the JAM, there is a question if the screen is big enough for easy readability and quality.
One nice feature is the ability to change the font size. Because the resolution is the same as other Pocket PC devices, the same amount of information will fit on the screen, but it will all just be smaller. This does mean that the quality is better as there are more pixels per inch. The screen is very vibrant, which is important at least in my book. It is also important to me that I can run my device with a slightly lower brightness level than the top setting.
I was able to do that with the JAM successfully in almost any conditions. The only time my screen was at full brightness was when the camera forced it to be. This also means a better battery life for the device. Power was not a major problem while using the JAM.
